Why we built it
The hunt is the fun part. The paperwork isn't.
Nobody got into coins for the record-keeping. You got into it for the searching, the finding, the moment a date you've been chasing for two years finally turns up in a junk box at a show.
Numikeep handles the remembering. Add a coin the moment you get it home, and everything else — the running total, the set filling in, where each piece lives — just stays current on its own. Then open it up whenever you want to look at what you've built, which is half the pleasure anyway.

Privacy
A list of who owns what, and which safe it's in, is a burglary plan.
We treated that as the starting point rather than an afterthought. Your collection is encrypted on your device with a key derived from your passphrase. What reaches our servers is ciphertext we have no way to open.
We can't read your collection
Not as a policy we promise to keep — as a fact of how it's built. There is no admin screen showing your coins, because the data is unreadable to us.
A breach gives up nothing
An attacker who took everything we store would get encrypted blobs and one third of a key. We test for exactly this: the full server contents, together, decrypt nothing.
Prices don't reveal your coins
Your phone downloads the whole price table and does the maths locally, so we never learn which coins you looked up. Every user makes the identical request.
The honest trade-off: if you forget your passphrase and lose your recovery kit, we cannot get you back in. Nobody can. That is the same property that stops a thief, and we'd rather tell you plainly than pretend otherwise.
The price
Free. Here's how that works.
Numikeep is built by Snowpack Numismatics, a coin dealer. We're not selling you software and we're not selling your data — there's nothing to sell, since we can't read it.
We make money if, one day, you decide to sell something and think of us first. You can show us a single coin without revealing anything else you own — one coin, one deliberate tap, everything else stays sealed, and you can withdraw it after. If you never sell us a thing, the app works exactly the same, forever. That's the whole arrangement.

Is it really free, or free for now?
Free. There is no paid tier for your collection, valuations, location tracking or the legacy plan. If we ever build something genuinely specialist — dealer tools, market hunting — that might be paid, and what you already use won't change.
How long does it take to enter a collection?
A few seconds per coin once you're going. There's no bulk import yet — it's on the list, and if you have a spreadsheet already, tell us what shape it's in and we'll build for that.
What happens if Numikeep shuts down?
Your collection is on your device and you can export it at any time. Because we can't read your data, we were never the thing keeping it — you hold the key and the copy.
Where do the values come from?
CPG retail pricing from Greysheet, matched on grade and CAC tier. We show when a quote was last updated and flag anything stale, because a confident number from two years ago is how people get talked down on price.
Do I have to sell my coins to you?
No, and nothing in the app pushes you to. Showing us a coin is something you choose, one piece at a time, and you can take it back afterwards.
Can I use it on more than one device?
Yes. Each device is unlocked once with your passphrase and opens with Face ID or your fingerprint after that. Your key never travels to us in a form we could read.
